Opting Out of Benefits


Under our terms and conditions, all eligible employees must be enrolled under the Group Benefits Plan.

If an employee does not require Extended Health and/or Dental coverage because similar coverage is provided under their spouse's plan, they may waive the coverage by completing the Refusal of Coverage form. Once completed, a copy of the completed form will be returned to us for verification and processing. Please note that we may require proof of similar coverage in order to process this request.

Employees who waive the coverage can request to be added back to the group benefits plan. However, this must be done within 31 days of a major life event or during our open enrolment, which runs from January 1-January 31.

Major Life Events include:

  • Loss of other coverage

  • Marriage or divorce

  • Birth or adoption of a child

  • Death in the family

  • Change in residence

  • Change in dependent status
