Employees with coverage through their spouse can also coordinate their benefits (all eligible family members are covered under both plans). Coordination of benefits between spouses is administered as follows:
Employee claims - Submit through the CPAIPW group benefits plan and then submit any unpaid remainder to the other spouse's plan.
Spouse claims - Submit through their own employer plan and then submit any unpaid remainder to the CPAIPW group benefits plan
Dependent child claims - Submit through the plan of the parent whose birthday month occurs first in the calendar year. Submit any unpaid remainder to the other spouse's benefits plan.
